Canyons of Doom

The image contains good detail, and some intrigue (because we do not know where the staircases and archways lead). It has been carefully composed. One of the limiting factors in this image is that the centerpiece (the railing and barrier) is probably the least interesting feature.
The way in which the image has been captured and processed gives it a “feel” that is opposite the feeling suggested by the title.
